Postby vsoo6255 on Fri Nov 13, 2009 8:43 am

Just saw this add this morning. Seems like a good trading opportunity!

UBS is looking to hire additional graduates for the 2010 Fixed Income Sales & Trading program in Sydney.

Applications will close on Friday 27 November at 5pm (AEDT). The selection process will take place in early December. Graduates for 2010 need only apply.

About UBS:

UBS is one of the world’s leading financial firms. We are a leading global wealth manager, a leading, global investment banking and securities firm, one of the largest global institutional asset managers and the market leader in Swiss commercial and retail banking.

In Australasia, UBS has operated in the financial market for over 70 years, having grown from a private stock-broking business to a leading financial services firm with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Today, UBS is a market leader and employs more than 1,300 staff in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2009, CFO magazine awarded UBS “Best Investment Bank”, an honour also bestowed by Asiamoney, FinancaAsia and Insto magazines. BRW magazine also recognized the strength of the bank’s equities business in its 2009 Best Brokers survey, which UBS won for the fourth consecutive year. UBS is also cited as an ‘Employer of Choice for Women’ by the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for graduates with a range of perspectives, experiences and skills - people who can bring something different to our organization. Of course, academic credentials are important, but these need to be coupled with excellent communication and quantitative skills, creativity, perseverance and tenacity. You will also need an ability to learn and think quickly, alongside the determination to excel. In return, we offer excellent career opportunities designed to match your ambition and potential.

Graduate Training Programs:

UBS graduates enter intensive, industry-leading training programs at the start of their careers with the firm. These programs provide various cross-divisional and specialist perspectives. A combination of demanding practical work experience and top education and training, they focus on specific business skills as well as personal development. You will also learn about our organization, core values and the professional standards we aspire to.

Hmm, it's a long shot... but just threw down a Singapore IB Internship application. Didn't spend enough time on it, to be honest. But, I do have an exam Monday.

Yer, usually HK & Singapore offer accom for nonlocal interns. With exception of MS in HK, but that might have just been last yr lol.

But aren't they North hemisphere intern? Will need to skip school?

The internships they are offering in IB - when are they actually for? Isn;'t it way too late to be recruiting for the coming Australian Summer?

Yeah i think the SG and HK ones run during our semester. Lucky for me I'm doing next semester part-time and externally! Doubt I'll get any luck with it but might as well give it a go. :)

The IB spot is for Graduate in Aus. IB Intern is in HK during our semester I think.
